6 Week Phone Reset Course
Connect back to life beyond the screen by understanding how to work with the thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are keeping you stuck there, so you can be more present & focused on what really matters to you.
(for people aged 18+)
You already know the apps are designed to keep you hooked
What you probably haven't figured out yet is why you, specifically, keep going back.
Over 6 weeks of online sessions, we'll unpick the real reasons your phone has such a grip on you: and build a relationship with technology that actually works in your favour.
If you've tired to make your phone less addictive with black and while mode/ app blockers, yet still find yourself glued to the screen, its because you haven't addressed the psychological reasons you're using it.
(And no, it’s not about deleting everything and going full digital hermit mode — unless you want to. It's about getting the best out of your phone and social media, while losing the bits that are draining you and holding you back)
Is this you?
Whether you're...
🫠 A freelancer who "needs" to be online 24/7 and has lost track of where work ends and doom-scrolling begins
🫠 A millennial who grew up online and genuinely isn't sure what free time even looks like without a device in hand
🫠 A student who sits down to write an essay and finds themselves, 45 minutes later, deep in a stranger's holiday photos from 2019
🫠 Someone who's tried every app-blocker, screen time limit, and digital detox challenge, and is back to square one within a week
Whoever you are: you're not weak, you're not the odd-one-out.
You're human, living in an environment that's been optimised by billion-dollar companies to grab and hold your attention. The problem isn't you. But the solution does need to start with you.
This course is for:
-
People who've tried timers, blockers, and detoxes but not been able to make it stick
-
People who want to understand when they reach for their phone, not just why
-
People who feel disconnected from their real life
-
People who want to use technology more intentionally (not necessarily less!)
-
People who are ready to do a bit of honest self-reflection (this is the important bit)
It is NOT for:
-
People looking for a quick fix or a one-size-fits-all screen time plan (the work we’ll do on this course will teach you lots of different tools - but it will be up to you to implement them)
-
People in crisis or experiencing significant mental health difficulties: please reach out to your local mental health service providers
When you understand your own relationship with your phone, not just the phone itself, things start to shift:
-
You stop reaching for your phone out of habit, boredom, or avoidance, and start using it on purpose.
-
You recognise what you're actually looking for when you open Instagram for the fourth time in an hour (and find better ways to meet that need).
-
You rediscover what you actually enjoy doing when you're not half-distracted by a screen.
-
You feel more present. In work, in your own head, in your actual life.
-
You stop feeling guilty about your phone use, and instead feel in charge of it.
Don't just take my word for it...

How it works
Most "solutions" to unhealthy phone use (timers, greyscale, deleting apps) don't address the underlying reasons you're reaching for it.
Maybe it's boredom, anxiety, loneliness.
These needs are very human. But until you understand them, no app-blocker in the world is going to solve the problem for you.
Across 6 weekly 75 minute sessions, we work through:
Practical strategies
Drawn from coaching psychology, including self-compassion techniques, somatic tools, habit and behaviour change approaches, and more.
Root cause exploration
Understanding your own patterns, triggers, and what your phone use is actually doing for you (emotionally, cognitively, behaviourally).
Building a life worth living away from the screen
Reconnecting with what you actually want your time and attention to go towards, because the best reason to put the phone down is having something better to pick up.
Why work with me?

I've been where you are
But I also know the research
Regrettably I’ve been overusing devices and social media since I was given my grandma’s old flip phone and access to MSN on the family computer.
I spent years using screens to escape (read: make 1000% worse) my teenage angst, poor mental health, life upheavals, overwhelming work loads and every-day discomforts.
It wasn't until I did the uncomfortable work of actually understanding why I kept reaching for it that anything changed. Not just reducing the behaviour, but looking at what was underneath it and getting to understand myself better.
I have a first class Psychology degree from Cambridge University, a diploma in Mental Health and Wellbeing Coaching, and I'm completing a Master's in Coaching Psychology, conducting a dissertation on the reasons people use their phone too much.

FAQ's:
1. How do I know if I should choose the group or 1:1? Group = chance to form community, feel normalised and supported by similar people going through similar things. Learning from each other. But still intimate enough that everyone will have the chance to speak and share when they want to. Individual = much more personalised, while we’ll still go through the same topics and techniques that I teach in the group, but you’ll have the full 75 minutes to yourself, so we can go deeper into your personal relationship with the phone, taking our time with each tool to see how it specifically applies to you, each week checking in personally with your progress.
3. What’s the difference between this and Coaching Psychology sessions? This is a structured course which follows a pre-determined curriculum of psychoeducation, tools & techniques, and reflective coaching questions. It is specifically about phone use (though many previous course takers have noted it has improved other areas of their life, too!) Coaching Psychology sessions are much broader, we can talk about any topic, and they are completely personalised with no predetermined curriculum.
2. What results can I expect? This will be very individual because you will make your own pledge to experiment with changing/reducing specific bits of your phone use. While many people on the course will aim to reduce their screentime somewhat, the success isn’t measured purely on this because it’s really about changing your relationship with your phone - so that the screentime you do have is more purposeful, intentional, and actually meeting your needs.
